I never knew this about "Metropolis".. apparently 30 mins. of the original were cut and then lost for 80 years... and found in Buenos Aries!!! O_o

Full article:

http://www.spiegel.de/international/zeitgeist/0,1518,658367,00.html

"One of the most important works in cinematic history is to be shown in its complete uncut version at next year's Berlin International Film Festival. The restored version of Fritz Lang's silent classic "Metropolis" is to hit the silver screen 83 years after it first premiered in Berlin.

Fritz Lang's silent opus "Metropolis" was the first film ever to be granted World Heritage status by UNESCO. Yet for years the version film buffs and auteurs had hailed as a masterpiece was incomplete. But next February, a Berlin audience will finally get to see the original version of the sci-fi classic in the city where it first premiered 83 years ago.

...However, the film which had been made at the Bablesberg studios failed to capture the audience's imagination and the Ufa studio quickly withdrew the film and released a much shorter version later that year."

This could be awesome!!
=)

Does anyone want to join me for this? it's on halloween night and sounds like it'd be super super fun.

The city spreads out before you. Rushing from point to point, lit by the slow strobe of fluorescent buses and dark streets. Stumbling into situations for a stranger's signature. Fleeing unknown pursuers, breathing hard, admiring the landscape and the multitude of worlds hidden in it.

Journey to the End of the Night is a free street game across the haunted cityscape of San Francisco this Halloween. Players sporting orange ribbons will try to make it through six checkpoints on foot or by public transportation, while avoiding being caught by chasers. Those who survive will be praised and feted at the end. Those who fall will become chasers themselves, rising in undeath to pursue their former friends and allies. It works like a race or derive that keeps breaking out into games of tag or hide and seek.

Words....

  • Aug. 26th, 2009 at 4:28 PM

I hear your voice
And the world goes away
I see your face
And this place is okay
Oh, for just a moment of your time
Oh, now, that'd be sublime

Do you hear me?
I'm here for you
You don't see me
I'm way in the back of the ballroom
I've been here since last night at nine
I was the first in the line

You make me cry more than
anyone I've ever met in my whole life
You made me smile despite myself
I live for you, I wouldn't lie
You made me love you more than i
Love myself

Corner cafe, random meeting
Is that really you there?
Scrape me off the ceiling
I've waited my whole life for this day
Now, I don't know what to say

You are the sea and the sky
And i'm content to not know why
You are so great, I am so plain
I am that moth to your flame
...Wish I was good enough for you

I'm just gonna put this out here:

Fushia broke up with me a few nights ago.

Ergo, I'm pretty much devastated and have NO idea what to do.

So I know i'm gonna be in a really weird awful place for a long while. That's just the way it is. I know myself well enough to know that i don't get over things very quickly.

If you see me out and i'm acting very strange, this is why. It has nothing to do with anyone else. I don't want anyone thinking i'm mad at them or don't wanna be friends cuz I'm acting all fucked up.

That's about all for now I guess.

Also, If anyone has any leads on a cheap place to stay or a decent job, fushia needs both.

PIg-meat?

Update or some shit...

  • Aug. 16th, 2009 at 2:51 PM

You'll all see me at DG and will find this out then, but
I'M FINEEE....! =)

I don't wanna go into hella details, but I fought someone i apparently shouldn't have at Thunderdome last night, and ended up with 7 stitches above my left eyebrow.... Let's just say that some people don;t know how to fight fair and adhere to ground rules set before the fight, and don't take it too well when they are getting their asses beat. =P

But I'm fine, the doctor and nurses all were very confused when I told them i got the injury in Thunderdome, but the doctor was hella cool and we chatted and he even gave fuckin BLUE stitches to match my hair.

so no one worry and yes, I'll be at DG tomorrow!

Repost this if you wanna, I know there were a lot of people worried. Thanks everyone at DGTD for their help and making sure I was OK. MUCH MUCH <3 to you all, and I'l be back next year. =P

Like fuckin flies.....

Usually I don't know who the person is when a "celebrity" dies, but i've actually heard of Les Paul:

"Les Paul, the guitarist and inventor who changed the course of music with the electric guitar and multitrack recording and had a string of hits, many with wife Mary Ford, died on Thursday. He was 94."

:-\

It's a sad sad day for anyone who likes music.
